This position is in the Department of Housing - Residential Life. This position is for the Danforth Campus.
Essential Functions
The staff member is tasked with enhancing the out-of-classroom experience by advising our residential student leadership groups: Congress of the South Forty, National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), and Ursa's Nite Life programming. The coordinator will supervise three graduate fellows and serve as a point person for student leadership training, programming, and leadership training. This position collaborates with various departmental offices, including the First Year Center, Campus Life, Event Management, Dining Services and Auxiliary Services.
1. Oversee leadership development programs for residential population (Leadership retreats, events and in-services). Provide training related to leadership development to student leaders, student staff and professional staff. Collaborate with Residential Life staff on the process of recruitment, marketing and election for college councils. Coordinate the residential leadership curriculum by partnering with Student Affairs partners through the various leadership opportunities for the residential population.
* Advise Congress of the South 40 (CS40/RHA), the largest programming body for the South 40, first and second year residential students
* Assist Northside Association (NSA) leadership advising team (RCD, Grad Fellow and Leadership Advisor) with setting the annual priorities, vision and mission of NSA
* Advise the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
2. Hire and train Ursa's grad fellow and Ursa's student managers. Supervise and collaborate with advisor team to promote and market Ursa's Nite Life. Develop social, alcohol-alternative, residential programming opportunities for students in collaboration with the staff. Specifically, manage late night programming (currently Ursa's Nite Life).
3. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a three graduate fellows. Provide support and referral for student leaders experiencing academic or personal difficulties by collaborating with Res Life staff members and campus partners.
4. Collaborate with Residential Life staff to design and implement programming and community development philosophy aligning with the community engagement curricular model and goals. Provide advisement regarding assessing the risk of student programming and issuing release of liability forms when necessary. Develop and execute several campus-wide events such as Midnight Breakfast, Residential College Dinners, Res Life Alumni Wine and Cheese event, assist with hall tours and annual office celebrations).
5. Actively participate as a member of the Residential Education Team, attending all meetings, retreats, and appropriate sessions. These would include but are not limited to weekly Residential Education meetings, professional and student staff training, and orientation. Serve on various residential life and student affairs committees and initiatives in order to maintain a strong connection to the university community and to ensure a broad array of programs. Coordinate collaborative efforts with campus organizations and other university constituents.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree plus 1-3 years of graduate and/or professional experience working in higher education.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
* Ability to foster positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
* Possess a commitment to social justice, a focus on the success of all students, an open mind and a willingness to learn.
* Ability to collaborate with numerous campus constituencies to execute large scale programs that impact a large number of students, faculty, and staff (with significant attention to detail).
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $43,231 - $55,126 annually.

Applicant Special Instructions
Position lives in university provided housing. Position must have ability to work on-call and travel to on- and off-campus locations. Must be willing to work frequent evenings and weekends and willing to travel to national leadership conferences with students. Must also be an active collaborator with numerous campus partners. Must be flexible, have a high tolerance for ambiguity, and a commitment to student development.
